A celebration of culture and love through design.

The Design Brief

Together with my partner, who has the knowledge required to develop the code and back end of the website, I developed assets and the UIUX for a modern and stylish website for my wedding.

The website needed to reflect the uniqueness of our relationship, while providing guests with all the important information about the event and allowing them to RSVP or contact us.

My Asian heritage is important to me.

  • In Chinese culture, the chrysanthemum is associated with longevity, nobility, and perfection. It is often used as a symbol of autumn and the joy of life. It is also a popular flower used during the Double Ninth Festival (Chongyang Festival), which is a day to pay respect to the elderly and ancestors.

  • In Chinese culture, bamboo symbolizes strength, resilience, and flexibility. It is also associated with longevity, good luck, and prosperity. Bamboo is a popular plant used in Chinese gardens, as it represents the harmony between man and nature.

  • In Chinese and Malaysian culture, the lotus flower is a symbol of purity, enlightenment, and spiritual growth. The lotus flower is also believed to represent rebirth and new beginnings, as it grows out of muddy waters but remains pure and beautiful.

I wanted to design and include motifs significant to my Chinese and Malaysian heritage.
